Cyclone Effect: GTU cancels practical, theory exams on June 12-13

AHMEDABAD: In the wake of the severe cyclonic storm warning flagged by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Gujarat Technological University (GTU) on Tuesday announced that all the practical as well as theory exams that were scheduled on June 12 and 13 i.e. Wednesday and Thursday, stand cancelled. The exams that were scheduled on June 14 would remain as it is.
The revised schedule of these two exams would soon be announced, said university officials. “It depends on the situation that unfolds over the next two days.”

Currently, some 50,000 students of Bachelors of Engineering, Semester-1 and Diploma Semester-2, are taking their exams, across five zones.

Even Saurashtra University has taken a similar decision. “In the wake of the order issued by the Rajkot district collector, holiday has been declared on June 12-13 across all colleges affiliated with the varsity. The post-graduate exams conducted at the district level on both these days stand postponed. The revised schedule will soon be announced,” said a notification issued by the Saurashtra University.
