NEW DELHI: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will open the window for online registration of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination 2019 (JNUEE 2019).
The candidates who wish to apply for the JNUEE 2019 can visit the official website of the University to register and submit their application form.
The JNUEE 2019 examination will be conducted for admission to various courses offered by the University. This year, a total of 3,383 seats, of which 1,043 are for MPhil and PhD courses, available.
As per the UGC notification, the selection for the MPhil & PhD program will be based on the MCQ based entrance exam (70% weightage) followed by a VivaVoce subjective evaluation (30% weightage). The selection for BA/MA/MSc/MTech/COP/DOP programs would be based solely on the MCQ based entrance exam (100% weightage).
The JNUEE 2019 will be conducted in 127 cities, a 2.5-fold increase from past years.
JNUEE goes online for the first time
This year, the JNU entrance examination will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The prospectus of the JNUEE 2019 will be released today, March 15, 2019. This is the first time that the university’s entrance exam will be conducted through the online multi-choice questions method.
300% fee hike expected
The University is also likely to increase its entrance exam fee by over 300%. The JNU Students’ Union (JNUSU) on March 14 called for a strike after the prospectus was allegedly leaked on social media mentioning the changes in the fee structure.
