It is important to register the birth within 21 days in the concerned municipal corporation of the area.  After 21 days, the applicant has to pay extra application fee. After the passage of 30 days to 1 year of Birth, the applicant has to present an Affidavit with additional application fee to register the name of the child in MCD Delhi.

  • Click on Registration of Birth & Death link


  • Now, click on Online Birth Certificate


  • After that Birth Certificate Search Process will appear on your screen

Procedure to Search Birth Certificate on MCD Website

To get your birth certificate online, you need to first search it online on the database of MCD website. You have to options to do so;

  • Search by Registration Number
  • Search Without Registration Number

If you select the first option, a new screen asking for details like Child Registration ID, Old Registration Number, Date of Birth, Gender, Mother Name, and Father Name. Otherwise, you can go for the second option to skip the registration number.

After filling the details as asked, you have to make a payment of Rs. 21 to download online copy of birth certificate in Delhi. The moment you make online payment for MCD birth certificate, you will see a Download Certificate option on your screen. Click on that option to download the certificate, instantly.

The Offline Method

There are 12 zones of MCD Delhi that dedicatedly work for birth and death certificate registration. Deputy Health Officer heads each zone and asks local bodies to issue the Birth and Death certificates within the seven (7) days from the date of receipt of application.

Once the registration process completes, the informer gets the single copy of the certificate, immediately. The additional copies of the birth certificate are provided at a cost of Rs. 5/- per copy.
