SSC exams: Students late over 30 mins won’t be allowed

VIJAYAWADA: The Board of Secondary Examination (BSE) of Andhra Pradesh have given students a grace time of 30 minutes for students appearing for the SSC public examinations across the state. Much to the relief of the students, the grace time stands much higher to the students compared to the Telangana counterpart during the election season. However, officials explained that they would not allow a student to come late every single day by 30 minutes and advised them to make it an hour before the exam.
Addressing a press conference on Friday, director of government exams A Subba Reddy explained that all arrangements have been made and that the exams would go as per the schedule from March 18 till April 3. Around 6.2 lakh candidates would taking up the exams across 2,839 centres across the 13 districts. Out of which 3.1 lakh are boys and over 3 lakh of them are girls. “In lieu of the court verdict on a private petition, we are setting up 209 CCTV cameras in problematic exam centres across the state,” Subba Reddy said while addressing a room full of reporters.
“Information has been given to all concerned regarding re-scheduling of examination slated to be conducted on March 22 to April 03 due to election of legislative council members from graduates and teacher constituencies,” Subba Reddy added. Officials have also set up a toll free number – 18005994550 and 0866-2974540 to redress any queries from students.
